Behind VELN are two women connected by a shared point of view.We design with intention, produce in small batches, and work alongside Indian artisans to create jewellery that becomes part of your story—not just your outfit.
For co-founder Shanon Marie, a California native who has called India home for over two decades, VELN is deeply personal. It reflects a life lived between cultures — the freedom and individuality of the West Coast, the colour and soul of India, and a lifelong love of jewelry collected through travel, memory and experience.
And then there was Sonia.
The woman crazy enough to believe in the dream.
What began as one woman’s idea became a shared vision — built through friendship, trust, endless conversations, bold ideas, and the belief that something special could be created together.
As co-founders, Shanon and Sonia bring two perspectives to VELN, united by one instinct: jewelry should feel personal, expressive and effortless. Pieces to live in, travel in, layer, collect and make your own. Together, they created a brand that lives between worlds.

No! It’s fashion – intentionally so. Our pieces are made to be worn often, lived in fully, and enjoyed without rules. If you’re looking for something to lock away, this isn’t it
Mostly brass, often paired with selected gemstones. We like materials that allow freedom of form, experimentation, and wearability. Fashion should feel good – not precious.
Across small ateliers and artisan workshops around the world. Not giant factories. Not sweatshops. And definitely not places that treat craft like an afterthought.
Because skill deserves opportunity. We believe in backing the people who still care about making things well – not corporations chasing endless scale and cash. You won’t find us in suits and boardrooms; we’re more hands-on, a little gritty, and closer to the ground, where things are actually made.
